Corporate girlie by day. Wellness work in progress—always.
Hi, friend! I’m Nicole—the woman behind Protein Plus Pilates.
I’m a wife, a full-time corporate professional, a household problem-solver, and a woman trying to take care of herself while still taking care of everything else. My days often begin early and include a long commute, a demanding job in data and fraud within the petroleum industry, and a home that somehow still expects dinner, clean laundry, groceries, and responsible adults.
Basically, I’m trying to build healthier habits in the middle of real life—not inside a perfectly organized wellness bubble.
Why I Started Protein Plus Pilates
At my highest weight, I weighed 310 pounds. I’ve lost around 90 pounds, but my journey has included plateaus, setbacks, health challenges, frustration, and plenty of moments when my body simply refused to follow the plan.
I also live with lipedema, which means my body may never fit society’s idea of “perfect,” no matter how much weight I lose or how consistently I work. Some parts of my body may not change the way people expect, and accepting that is still a work in progress.
But perfection is no longer the goal. I keep trying because I deserve to feel stronger, move more comfortably, nourish myself well, and care for the body I have right now. My progress may not look like someone else’s, but that doesn’t make it any less meaningful—and neither does yours.
Along the way, I discovered that I genuinely enjoy protein-forward cooking and Pilates. Protein helps me create satisfying meals that support my goals, while Pilates has shown me that movement can be about becoming stronger—not punishing myself for what I ate.
Protein Plus Pilates grew from my desire to share that journey with other women who are also trying to make healthier choices while managing careers, marriages, households, responsibilities, and lives that don’t conveniently pause for meal prep.

Sometimes wellness looks like a beautiful nourish bowl and a Pilates session. Sometimes it looks like grabbing the best protein option available, walking when you can, and trying again tomorrow. Both count.
No Judgment—Ever
There is no single “right” way to pursue better health. Some people follow a particular way of eating. Some use GLP-1 medications. Some choose weight-loss surgery. Others combine different tools and approaches as their needs change.
Those are personal decisions—not invitations for judgment.
At Protein Plus Pilates, you will never be shamed for the tools you use to care for yourself. Your choices should be based on what is right for your health, your circumstances, and your body, with guidance from qualified healthcare professionals when appropriate.
No one deserves extra credit for taking the hardest route, and no one should be made to feel that their progress matters less because they accepted help.
Healthy is the goal. How you get there is your business.
I’m Learning Right Alongside You
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an MBA in project management, but I am not a doctor, registered dietitian, nutritionist, or certified fitness professional.
I’m simply a woman sharing what I’m learning through my own experience. My psychology background helps me understand habits and motivation, while my project-management brain loves turning overwhelming goals into smaller, manageable steps.
Nothing here is intended to replace professional medical or nutritional advice. Think of me as the friend beside you—not the expert lecturing you.
Progress, Personality and Plenty of Pink
I believe healthy food should taste good, movement should meet you where you are, and wellness should make your life better—not take it over.
Most importantly, I believe progress matters more than perfection. You don’t have to do everything at once, and you don’t have to get it right every day. You just have to keep finding your way back.
So pull up a chair, grab something with protein, and stay awhile. We’re figuring this out together—with honesty, humor, grace, and plenty of pink.
Welcome to Protein Plus Pilates. I’m so glad you’re here.
